Vertu opens its first flagship store in India at New Delhi

Have you been lusting for an ostentious buy this Diwali, but think jewelry and high-end watches are passé? Well, you are in luck! Because you can now buy a Vertu and enjoy the whole experience that comes with the purchase of a luxury mobile.

Vertu opened its first boutique store in India on 1 November, 2012, and apparently believes that this brand will have takers in other cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. So be prepared to see a Vertu flagship outlets here too, shortly.

For those who came in late, British brand Vertu’s handsets are available exclusively in over 500 stores globally, including over 100 dedicated Vertu boutiques in 66 countries.

Previously, Vertu phones were available in India across 20 points of sales through luxury products distributors.  But now, it wants to get closer to customers, ergo, the flagship outlets.

The company has also launched Vertu Constellation Smile, a variant of Vertu’s Constellation Touch priced at Rs 2.96 lakh. The handset has been designed to celebrate a partnership between Vertu and Smile Train, a global organisation based in New York City providing free corrective surgery for children with unrepaired cleft lips and palates.

But if a Vertu is too high-end for you, worry not. You can always go for the newly launched iPhone 5, another handset, which is bound to make you the cynosure of all eyes. After all, it’s the festive season and what better way to grab eyeballs than to flash your latest smartphone?
